EPA criticized for Superfund cuts

TUESDAY, JULY 2, 2002 Congressional and environmental critics on Monday accused the Bush administration of lying about its commitment to cleanup toxic waste sites across the nation. The acrimony came after the Environmental Protection Agency provided a report to Congress showing cuts in funds to 33 Superfund sites in 18 states. Regional officials requested money to cleanup contamination but none was provided. The EPA yesterday said the sites could still receive funds. Get the Story:
