EPA cleanup funds being slashed

MONDAY, JULY 1, 2002 The Bush administration is cutting funds to 33 toxic waste sites and will eventually shift the cost of the Superfund program to taxpayers. The New York Times cites a new EPA inspector general report which notes a slowdown in Superfund cleanup. A total of 18 states are affected, the paper reports. The Bush administration has previously said it wants to make taxpayers pay for cleanup. Get the Story:
