EPA Memo: Toxic sludge helps fish

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 2002 An internal Environmental Protection Agency document claims that toxic waste in waters is actually good for fish, The Washington Times reports today. The memo claims that the waste encourages fish to leave polluted areas where they won't be caught by fishermen. The document is part of an administrative record on dumping in the Potomac River. The House Resources Committee is holding a hearing today to discuss the issue. Get the Story:
