Nebraska authorities on Monday cited seven people who drank beer in public to protest liquor sales to Native Americans.

The seven, including one reverend, were drinking malt liquor outside Gov. Mike Johanns' Mansion, where a re-election birthday party / fundraiser was taking place. Part of a group called Nebraskans for Peace, the protesters are challenging the state's policies in Whiteclay.

Whiteclay is a small town with liquor establishments which draw most of its clientele from the nearby Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.
