N.D. tribal chairman fights for job

FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2002 The ousted chairman of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa in North Dakota wants his job back. Richard Monette has been rejected by the tribal court system and is appealing to an inter-tribal court. The tribal council says it kicked out of office because he was a part-time chairman who wasn't committed. Get the Story:
