Another Maine town is considering whether it wants to host a tribal casino.

Wiscasset voters will be asked if they support a casino next week. The referendum will be non-binding.

The Penobscot Nation and the Passamaquoddy Tribe raised a casino idea earlier this year. They intend to pursue it during the next legislative session.

The proposal and its ramifications were discussed at a discussion sponsored by the Maine State Bar Association last night. Community and tribal representatives took part in a panel discussion.
