Minn. casinos attributed to income gain

TUESDAY, JUNE 4, 2002 Income on Minnesota reservations with casinos grew fastest during the 1990s, according to the U.S. Census. On the Mille Lacs Ojibwe Reservation, for instance, income rose 223 percent. For the Lower Sioux Community, the jump was 223 percent. And at the Prairie Island Community, income rose a whopping 618 percent. But income off-reservation remains higher than most reservation communities.
