The Eastern Pequot Tribe of Connecticut is looking for development sites should it gain federal recognition.

The tribe has been looking at several parcels of land over the years, a spokesperson told The New London Day. Housing, schools, community projects and potentially a casino are being considered.

Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb is set to make a final decision on the tribe by the end of the month. His staff projected it will complete its analysis by June 25.
