Makah whaling decision appealed

FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2002 Animal-rights activists asked a federal appeals court on Thursday to temporarily halt to the whale hunt of the Makah Nation of Washington. The tribe has agreed not to issue any whaling permits until the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals renders a decision. A ruling is expected next Friday. Get the Story:
