Ex-school official faces suit in mascot case

WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, 2002 A former school official can be sued for actions regarding the Chief Illiniwek mascot of the University of Illinois, a federal judge ruled on Tuesday. Former Chancellor Michael Aiken prevented faculty from talking to athlete recruits about the mascot without permission. Faculty and students sued in response. Get the Story:
