Activists tackle corporate policies

Activists and tribes have taken aim at corporate policies towards Native Americans for years. The mainstream media is finally noticing.

The Christian Science Monitor reports on effort like the use of Crazy Horse's name to hawk such products as malt liquor, clothing and most recently, an oil rig. His descendants have fought a number of battles over the Lakota chief's image, name and likeness.

But like the debate over school and sports mascots, not every fight succeeds. Some of the toughest appear to be changing how companies do business on traditional Native land or how their policies impact sacred sites and cultural resources.
