THURSDAY, MAY 16, 2002 In response to charges that the Bush administration has not been enforcing the Clean Air Act, the Environmental Protection Agency is looking to bring lawsuits against major polluters. Increased funding is also being sought under President Bush's "Clear Skies" initiative. The move to enforce is somewhat of a reversal of EPA's stance on Clinton-era lawsuits against the industry.
