Congressman Brad Carson had gall bladder removed

Rep. Brad Carson (D-Okla.) had his gall bladder removed on Tuesday.

Carson said he is doing well and will get back to the campaign trail. A member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, he is running for the Senate seat being vacated by Don Nickles, a Republican.

Carson intends to reach out to Native American voters and will participate in a Congressional effort to encourage Native turnout in the 2004 elections. He represents a district that is 16 percent Indian.
