Chickasaw astronaut to speak at NASA event

John Herrington, the first Native American to go into space, will speak at NASA's Native American Heritage Month event in Washington, D.C. today.

Herrington is a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma. He spent 14 days aboard the shuttle Endeavour and went to the International Space Station.

The event is open to the public and takes place at NASA headquarters at 2 p.m. NASA Administrator Sean O�Keefe will also speak.
