Editorial: Pombo 'embarrassed' top House leaders
Friday, October 31, 2003
Rep. Richard Pombo (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Resources Committee, "slapped" lawmakers working on the Department of Interior budget bill and "embarrassed top House leaders," The Denver Post says in editorial. The paper says the conference committee that finalized the Interior bill "tried to circumvent the regular Senate and House committees that normally have jurisdiction over Indian matters," including Pombo's committee.
