The Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma is studying the possibility of building its own water and sewer system.

The tribe owns property in Shawnee, where its a headquarters, grocery store, golf course, casino and wellness center are located. the land. Chairman Rocky Barrett wants the property deannexed, according to The Oklahoman.

Deannexation would resolve taxation and related issues but could create jurisdictional conflicts.
