Tribe pushes alternate route for Haskell highway
Monday, October 13, 2003
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has agreed to review a proposal by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation to change a highway expansion project affecting Haskell Indian Nations University. The tribe is concerned that the project will harm wetlands near the school. In response, the Army Corps will consider an alternate route that would push the highway out of the wetlands.
