Wash. firm helping tribes with environmental projects

Parametrix, an environmental engineering firm in Washington, is helping tribes in the Southwest with several projects. The Jicarilla Apache Nation of New Mexico hired the firm to create an eagle sanctuary. The facility is similar to one the Zuni Tribe started and will fill the growing need for eagle feathers and parts. The firm is helping the White Mountain Apache Tribe with a reforestation project on land that burned during last year's Rodeo-Chediski fire. Two Pueblos in New Mexico, Cochiti and San Ildefonso, are using the company to manage lands along the Rio Grande. Get the Story:
