Fort Peck Tribes to cut funding for tribal paper

Citing budget shortfalls, the Fort Peck Tribes of Montana are cutting funding to the tribal newspaper, The Lincoln Journal Star reports. The Wotanin Wowapi was first published in 1968. It receives $40,000 from the tribal government and has an annual budget is $260,000. Editor Bonnie Red Elk says the paper might not be able to survive without the tribal funding. Get the Story:
