Senate passes Indian technical corrections act

The Senate on Thursday passed, by unanimous consent, a technical corrections act affecting several tribes and Indian programs.

Provisions affect the Bosque Redondo Memorial, the Navajo-Hopi Land Settlement Act, the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Indians, the Cochiti Pueblo Settlement Act, the Four Corners Interpretive Center, the Mississippi Band of Choctaws, rehabilitation of of Celilo Indian Village, the Barona Band of Mission Indians, Alaska Native repatriation, Acoma Pueblo minerals, Quinault Nation water study, Santee Sioux Tribe water report, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College, the Ute Tribe oil shale deposit and the Quinault Nation fisheries fund.

Other provisions appear to apply to lands recently returned to San Ildefonso Pueblo and Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico. The provisions state the land can't be used for gaming.
