Senate GOP fails to break Democratic filibuster

Senate Republicans failed in seventh attempt to approve the nomination of Miguel A. Estrada to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Estrada would sit on a court that hears a number of Indian law cases. The Cobell case is currently before the D.C. Circuit. A partisan battle also erupted before the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday. Democrats objected to the process for four appeals court judges from Michigan, saying they weren't properly consulted. Get the Story:
