Changes lower dropout rate on Mont. reservation

Thanks to innovative changes, the dropout rate for public schools on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation has dropped from 17 percent to 6 percent in the last two years. The improvement is attributed to the creation of the Lame Deer Alternative Learning Center, where students are given greater flexibility, and the schools' participation in the Montana American Indian Dropout Prevention Project.
