Health of N.D. tribe's bison herd questioned again

The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota is again facing questions about the management of its bison herd. A report by the North Dakota Board of Animal Health found more than 30 dead animals and others suffering from malnutrition. But the tribe said its own investigation found just 7 seven dead, less than the standard winter kill. The National Park Service is also looking into the herd, which comes from excess bison the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This is the second year the tribe's practices have been questioned.
