Okla. doctor to study diabetes among Indian youth

The National Institutes of Health has awarded a $1.4 million grant to an Oklahoma City doctor to study type 2 diabetes among youth, particularly Indian youth. Dr. Kenneth Copeland of the Oklahoma University Children's Physicians will monitor Indian youth ages 10-17 who have the disease. The study will look at development treatment standards. Health centers of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe, the Chickasaw Nation and the Choctaw Nation will participate. Get the Story:
