TUESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2001 Gloria Tristani, a government advocate for breaking the digital divide, on Monday said she will leave her job as FCC commissioner next month. Tristani, a Democrat appointed to the agency by President Clinton in 1997, will leave on September 7 and return to her home state of New Mexico. She is expected to run against Pete Domenici (R) for the Senate. Tristani, who is Hispanic, has been a leader in the push to bring technology to Indian Country and other umderserved areas. Yesterday, she addressed a Hispanic group in New Mexico. Get the Story:
