In an editorial today, The Sioux Falls Argus Leaders says a Sioux Nation Supreme Court is a "valuable project."

But the paper says there are some hurdles to overcome, including the cooperation of 11 tribes. The paper also says putting land into trust for the project must occur.

Congress last year authorized the creation of the court. The court will be located in Stanley County, South Dakota, and its construction will be funded by an $18 million grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Department of Justice will provide support.
