A poll released on Wednesday reveals that large majorities of Americans reponded negatively when asked about their feelings towards Chinese-Americans.

Depending on the question asked, anywhere from 68 percent to 73 percent of respondents had negative views. Overall, says the group which conducted the study, says 25 percent of Americans view Chinese-Americans negatively while 33 percent have positive views.

The poll was conducted by Yankelovich Partners and the Marttila Communications Group for the Committee of 100, a group of Chinese-Americans. It was conducted before the recent controversy between the United States and China over a downed US spy plane.
