OCTOBER 11, 2000 Presidential candidates Al Gore and George W. Bush will face one another again tonight in the second of three sanctioned debates. The first debate, held in Boston, Massachusetts, focused largely on issues, so much to the extent that the candidates got too specific on numbers and proposals. This time around, in North Carolina, the candidates will again focus on the issues. But the Gore camp says their candidate will be less specific and the Bush camp will focus on being more direct, say analysts. The debate tonight is less formal. It will again last 90 minutes and begins at 9PM Eastern Standard Time. Polls put the candidates at almost equal support, although some put Bush at a small advantage. Relevant Links:
