APRIL 9, 2001 Kathy Keating, wife of Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating, has announced she will run for the state's 1st Congressional district. Keating, a Republican, is running for the post being vacated by Rep. Steve Largent. He will leave by November 2002. Ross Swimmer, Former Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, has formed a committee to investigate running for the state, but hasn't officially announced his candidacy. Swimmer, a Republican, was former head of the BIA under President Reagan. Get the Story:
