JANUARY 24, 2001 As a result of restructering and downsizing, the company which has a development stake in a casino proposed by the Torres-Martinez Cahuilla Tribe is trying to sell its share. Dreamport is a subisidiary of GTECH, a Rhode Island company. The company in recent months has announced layoffs and is focusing its business in certain areas. Its vice president says it has been seeking to sell its share in the Cahuilla casino since last August. Through a bill signed into law last month, the remote tribe won the rights to purchase land to build a casino in a more desirable location.
