FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2001

The Oneida Nation of New York is planning to sell liquor at its resort casino and will obtain state and federal licenses to do so, said tribal officials.

At first, the tribe declined not to sell liquor, citing damage to Indian people. After a casino in Canada starting selling alcohol, the tribe changed its mind.
