JUNE 7, 2001 New Mexico State police on Wednesday arrested Taos Pueblo tribal police officer Gary Lefthand for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to authorities, Lefthand had a blood alchol level of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. He was arrested following a minor accident. Taos Pueblo Governor Nelson Cordova said it was likely Lefthand would be suspended while charges against him are pending. Get the Story:
