MARCH 20, 2001 The Albuquerque, New Mexico, City Council on Monday approved a 30-year agreement which one Pueblo official said would set a nationwide precedent. The agreement calls on the state's 19 Pueblos to submit future development of the jointly-owned old Indian School property to city land use regulations. In exchange, the city will provide fire, water, and other municipal services to the site, which is in downtown Albuquerque. The Pueblos have to approve the agreement and the Department of Interior would also have to agree to it. Get the Story:
