While in Cuautla, Mexico, on Wednesday, Zapatista leader Subcomandante Marcos accused the nation's bankers of exploiting land and mineral resources at the expense of Native people.

Marcos also criticized President Vicente Fox's economic development plan for the nation's indigenous. He said the plan would only bring strip malls and unwanted commercial to the southern state of Chiapas, the site of the Zapatista Indian rights movement.
