JUNE 26, 2001 The Anchorage Police Department is considering implementing a domestic violence court in response to statistics which showed that reports of intimate partner crimes increased by 120 percent from 1989 to 1999. Of suspects involved in domestic violence, 21 percent were Alaska Native, according to a study completed last year. Alaska Natives are about 8 percent of the city's population. Get the Story:
