Biotechnology protested in Calif.

Protests marked Sunday's opening of BIO2001, a biotechnology conference being held in San Diego, California, this week.

The conference is expected to draw 12,000 to 15,000 people in the $22 bill biotech industry. The protesters numbered a few hundred and a few were arrested.
