The National Organic Standards Board, part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, on Wednesday voted 14-0 not to label Alaska wild salmon as "organic."

But the vote is only advisory and Secretary Ann Veneman has the final say. Sen. Frank Murkowski (R-Alaska) and others from Alaska have been pushing for the label for the wild salmon, saying there is no reason why a natural fish shouldn't get it.
