FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2001 An environmental group says a multi-state prairie dog plan needs to be stengthened because not enough recovery land, including reservations, is being set aside. The National Wildlife Federation says the lack of land in 11 states will prevent efforts to restore the population of the black-tailed prairie dog. The prairie dog is under consideration as an endangered species by the Department of Interior and the states developed a plan in order to head off a listing. Get the Story:
