JUNE 11, 2001 President Bush today will make a speech in Washington pushing his own plans to attack global warming before he meets European leaders to discuss the issue. Bush will propose spending money to research the causes of global warming and on ways to reduce it. The National Academies of Sciences reported last week that global warming is exists and is a growing problem, but the Bush administration is interested in finding out how humans contribute to it. Bush will travel to Europe for a five-day diplomatic junket to five countries. The trip begins in Spain on Tuesday, where anti-Bush protests have already begun. Get the Story:
