MARCH 7, 2001 The Environmental Protection Agency is having second thoughts about tax-deductible $98,000 donation to an environmtnal group the Coors Brewing Company has proposed to make as part of a settlement in which 77,000 gallons of beer were spilled into Clear Creek near Golden, Colorado last year. Some 50,422 fish were killed as a result. The company has had environmental problems in the past, which led to the introduction of "self-audit" laws in Colorado. The laws, which were championed by Secretary of Interior Gale Norton as the state's Attorney General, have been challenged by the EPA. Get the Story:
