DECEMBER 14, 2000 A group of indigenous leaders from the Siberian region of Russia are meeting with tribal leaders in the Northwest, hoping to learn best how to protect their own natural resources, culture, and language. So far, they've visited the Makah Nation and the Quinault Nation in Washington. On Wednesday, they met with officials from the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission. They plan on going to the Warm Springs Reservation in Oregon before returning home. Get the Story:
