Cheney wants dams to stay

At a campaign stop in Spokane, Washington, Vice Presidential candidate said he doesn't support breaching of dams on the Snake River.

Cheney joins his running mate George W. Bush in opposing breaching. Other members of the Republican Party also oppose breaching, including Senator Slade Gorton (R-Wash).

Vice President Al Gore hasn't endorsed either position yet. He has advocated more study.
