Seminole Tribe welcomes teachers

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2001

The Seminole Tribe of Florida last week had a welcome dinner for area public and private teachers in order to get them better acquainted with the students in their classrooms.

There used to be a time when Seminole children weren't allowed to attend public schools in the state. Thanks to changing attitudes, that is no longer the case, and thanks to gaming revenues, the tribe can afford to send most Seminole children to private school.
