JUNE 27, 2001 The National Museum of the American Indian on Tuesday opened a visitor center on the Mall in Washington, DC, providing a preview of the $219 million project. The museum is being built on the last remaining open space on the mall. It is expected to be complete in 2004. Get the Story:
