Area rich with Indian history

Various tribes have occupied the Otter Creek region in southeastern Montana for at least 10,500 years, according to achaeological surveys.

Crow, Cheyenne, Shoshone, and Sioux are just some of the nations who call the region home, leaving the area with numerous artifacts. The area was also the site of numerous battles between tribes and the United States.
