FROM THE ARCHIVE
NOVEMBER 29, 2000 Students at Little Big Horn College on the Crow Reservation in Montana continued their protests in support of President Janine Pease Pretty On Top on Tuesday, taking their case to tribal headquarters. On Monday, the students held a rally in the afternoon. They don't want to see Pretty on Top resign from her job, which some members of the college's board of trustees have asked her to do. Yesterday, they went to tribal headquarters, demanding action from the council. The council is separate from the college administration. Tribal Vice Chairman Vincent Goes Ahead talked with students and suggested to have a meeting on the issue. But some, including Pretty on Top, believe the tribe views her as a remnant of former Chairwoman Clara Nomee's adminstration and want her gone too.
