FROM THE ARCHIVE
OCTOBER 12, 2000 More residents of towns located near the Mohegan Sun casino have signed a petition complaining about loud concerts at an outdoor pavilion. The effort was started by a Montville resident. She said an overly loud REO Speedwagon concert prevented her 11-year-old son from doing his homework. Residents will forward the petition to the governor's office. They say the casino has ignored their complaints. The temporary pavilion will be taken down next year after the new 10,000-seat area has been built. The casino has said it won't hold any marathon concerts like the 5-hour one featuring Poison and Cinderella, which also drew complaints. Get the Story:
