JULY 3, 2000 About 50 Red Lake Ojibwe from the Red Lake reservation in Wisconsin gathered this past week at Lake Superior to begin the 1,200 mile, two month journey around the Great Lake. The walk began two years ago as a way to reconnect both Indians and non-Indians to each other and to the lake. The walk will conclude August 27 with the walkers arriving back at Red Lake for the a powwow. Get the Story:
