JUNE 12, 2000 Extradited from Canada in 1976 to face trial for the deaths of two FBI agents, Ojibwe / Lakota activist Leonard Peltier is up for a parole today at the Leavenworth federal prison in Leavenworth, Kansas. Allegations surrounding conflicting reports leading to Peltier's extradition were reviewed by the Department of Justice.
