But Erin Abbott, the 24-year old protester injured while attempting to interrupt a group of Makah hunters, remains defiant of the federal law which may cost her a fine and six years in jail. Dorothy Abbott, Erin's mother, said she is proud of her daughter, adding that "[w]hales are defenseless creatures. They bleed just like you and I do." The hunters are taking today off. Get the Story:
